Si è conclusa a Roma la prima edizione di ROMA - The Road To Contemporary Art.

Unanimous has been the opinion of exhibitors and public about the first edition of ROMA – The Road to Contemporary Art : a great success.

Six unique exhibiting venues
50 Italian and international exhibitors
More than 35.000 visitors in 5 days
840 accredited journalists
922 collectors from all over the world
10 buses that have connected all the venues
70 galleries and different spaces open during the Freaky Friday, a night dedicated to Art

But what have determined ROMA success are not only the numbers but also the great enthusiasm of all the people involved and their consciousness to have been witness and protagonists of a memorable event: ROMA has inaugurated a new era and from now the contemporary art fairs wont be the same anymore.

ROMA is not a fair, ROMA is not an art exhibition, ROMA is a totally new event.
ROMA leaved the aseptic and chaotic corridors of the fair buildings to receive the exhibitors and public in the quiet atmosphere of some of the most beautiful and prestigious palaces in Rome.

An expert mix between history and contemporaneity that has dragged not only the art market but all the civil society that with its enthusiastic participation has showed to be open and ready to welcome new cultural proposals.

ROMA is a complex project that Roberto Casiraghi has realized with courage.
He has carried out a thesis that has inspired him from the beginning: to be successfully a cultural event must be democratic and involve a wide public.

It is for this reason that Roberto Casiraghi wanted to add to the fair program two fre exhibitions: Incipit curated by Ludovico Pratesi in the Palazzo Rospigliosi and Cose Mai viste curated by Achille Bonito Oliva, in the spectacular scenario in the Terme di Diocleziano set up with the masterpieces from the private collections of the exhibitors.

It is just the beginning. Roberto Casiraghi promises new surprises in the next year.
See you in the 2009 from the 2nd to the 5th of April.
